What’s the registration process for Indian radiographers specifically?▾
You’ll apply to the Medical Radiation Technologists Board of New Zealand with your qualification and experience assessed against their practice thresholds. If you’ve been practising for under two years, or your country doesn’t have a mutual-recognition arrangement with New Zealand, a competency exam may also be required.
What is the MRTB competency exam?▾
It’s a clinical/theory exam MRTB may require if you don’t have enough recent full-time clinical experience, or there’s no mutual-recognition arrangement for your country. We help you understand whether it applies to you.
What IELTS or OET score does MRTB require?▾
Commonly IELTS 7.0 in each band, or OET Grade B in all four sub-tests. We confirm the exact current requirement when we check your eligibility.
How much does MRTB registration cost, and how long does it take?▾
MRTB’s own fees and processing time vary — we confirm current figures and realistic timelines for your specific situation once we’ve reviewed your qualification.
What visa lets me work in New Zealand after MRTB registration?▾
Most registered radiographers move through the Accredited Employer Work Visa, with a path to residency after time in the role. We can point you toward where to get proper visa advice.
What can I earn as a radiographer in New Zealand?▾
It varies by region, employer and experience — we’re happy to talk through realistic ranges once you’re closer to registering.
